OWH Sketch #179

Operation Write Home's Sunday Sketch Challenge #179 looks like this:

I turned the sketch just a bit and since it is almost the 4th of July I went with another patriotic theme.
Here is my take on the sketch:

This digi image is from Pollycraft Digi Stamps. This patriotic cutie is from the Candyfloss Crew~Ebony.

Of course, I colored her up using my Copic markers.
Skin-E000,00,21,R01
Hair-E55, 44
Outfit-B01,02,04, R05, E31, Y35, C1,3,5

I added the last of my silver sticker stars and I even decorated the inside because I wanted to use my newly purchased Stampabilities rubber stamp.  The sentiment says: Happy 4th of July.

That is my take on this weeks Sunday sketch.
Last week, I said I had some good news to report. And...then I got some more good news.
First, for the next three months, I'll be joining the DT team over at Sassy Cheryl's.  Yep, I am joining the Sassettes. Like I need another reason to be more Sassy. But they are just that ...sassy and fun!

Second, I am joining the Some Odd Girl  Team as a Community Team Member. Come hang with me in the SOG World Ning site. I'll be chillin' in the community and helping to post fun challenges and sneaky peeks! Oh, what fun!

I would like to submit this card to this week's Little Miss Muffet's Challenge #64~Seeing Stars.
Well, that's it for this Sunday.
Have a great one, my friends!!!

There's No Place Like Home

This is it. My final Kraftin' Kimmie submission for the Krafty Guest Contest. Yes, this time...I promise it is the last one. Now, I just sit back and hope that I make it to the Top Three.
Those who know me also know that I really like the Wizard of Oz. So I used the Wicked Witch and Glinda
Remember, the beginning of the movie starts in black and white. So, here is the front of my card.

And then..when Dorothy lands on top of the witch... the movie turns to color! That was always my favorite part! Here is the inside:
See! The inside of my card turns to color!
Just like the movie!

The sentiment on the inside reads: There's no place like home.

Outside.                         Inside.
And that's it! I promise!  The fourth and final card for the Kraftin' Kimmie Krafty Guest Contest.

Oh, and I am going to enter this card into the A.R.T. Challenge #3~Anything Goes.

Have a great Saturday night, my Munchkins! I mean, my friends!

Puttin' on the Ritz

The pressure is on peoples. And...I want to be a Kraftin' Kimmie guest for the month of August!! No, really I do. And...nothing about this card went my way. I literally spent all day piecing together this creation. From almost decapitating her head to assembling the complete easel card only to realize that in the end...I put it together upside down! I couldn't make this stuff up.

My inspiration for this card came from my love of the TV show Dancing With the Stars.

Oh! Wait! Not that inspiration....how did that photo get in here?!? :) Who put this photo in my blog? (He-he!)

This kind of inspiration...

So, here is my creation:

It is an easel card. And I used two Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. The top image is Dashing Dancers.
The bottom stamp is Ever After. The paper is from The Paper Studio as well as the La Petites flowers. The border is a punch from Martha Stewart called Bangle Chain Trim. I wanted the gems and rhinestones to mimic the lights and chandelier of a fancy ballroom.
I colored the top image using Copic markers in the following colors:
Skin-E000,00,11
Hair-(girl) R20,22,59 (boy) E55,44
Dress-B93,95,99
Suit-C1,3,5

The sentiment came with the rubber stamp set. It reads: Puttin' on the Ritz. The sentiment and the Ever After image was stamped using Memento Ink Midnight Blue.

I threw in some clear stars. This is my third submission for the Krafty Girl Contest. And I am going to enter this in the A.R.T Card Challenge #3~Anything Goes, too.  Hope you have a great Friday! I'll be back tomorrow with some exciting news!

Eliza.

Back today for another Kraftin' Kimmie Guest Contest submission.
Here is my newest creation using Eliza.

Isn't she lovely? So sophisticated!
I colored Eliza up with Copic markers in the following colors:
Skin-E000,00,21
Hair-E55,44
Dress-R05,C1,3,5,7
The card is made using my Nestabilities scalloped circles. The flowers and gems are from Recollections. The feathers are to accent the feathers on her hat. I used this picture to follow as I was coloring.

I didn't want to leave Eliza's dress just plain white so I colored it red. Not exactly the same as the pic above, but I think it still turned out cute.

Now, remember the challenge criteria is to decorate both the inside and the outside of the card. Here is the inside:

I used the sentiment that comes with the stamp. It reads: Good girls go to heaven, bad girls go everywhere!
(Mae West)

And there, my friends is my second submission for Kraftin' Kimmie. Come back tomorrow for my next crafty creation. Summer schoool officially ended today! So I am free to play and make cards all I want!!!!

I am also going to submit this card for the A Random Thursday Card Challenge #3 (A.R.T.)~Anything Goes

Kraftin' Kimmie #1

Kraftin' Kimmie is having a Krafty Guest Contest. The Top Ten ( one of which is ME!)move on to Round 2! Ding, Ding!
I have until  Wednesday, July 3rd to submit a design for the following challenge....INSIDE, OUTSIDE!!!  I must make sure my creation contains a Kraftin' Kimmie stamp (of course! ) AND that I decorate both the outside AND the inside!  You may submit as many creations as you like before the deadline. ALSO, this must be a NEW creation, made specifically for this call!
Soooooo, without further ado, I present my first submission:

It's Tara. I know, I say every Kraftin' Kimmie stamp is my favorite. But this stamp has special meaning to me. My youngest son, Alex was born deaf. Signing I love You is one of the first signs that I taught him and we still use this sign. A lot.  We use a lot of sign language. I actually bought this stamp and used it to make end-of-the-year thank you cards for Alex's teacher and sign language interpreter.
Here he is:

Isn't he the cutest?!?
Tara is colored up using Copic markers.
Skin-E000,00,21
Hair-E53,44
Dress-R24,14,05,C3
I used both sentiments that came with the KK stamp. The front reads: Here's a Sign...and on the inside...that I Love You.

The inside of my card looks like this:

The paper is a mix and match that I had. The fabric flowers are from The Paper Studio Spare Parts and the red gem border is from Jolee's Boutique. The border fringe is from Recollections.
The hearts are just tiny brads also from Recollections.

So there it is. Number one complete.
Thanks for stopping by, my friends.

Mid-Week Throwdown

Clean and Simple
Here is my creation:

I've been wanting to color this image up for a week now! This is a digi image from Sassy Cheryl's. It's called Better Than a Thousand Words.
A quiet moment just sitting beside that someone special you love. Words are not needed. You can just feel the love.
The sentiment is a rubber stamp that simply states: I Love You.
I don't know about you but a quiet moment like this is my idea of love.
That comfortable silence where you don't feel the need to say anything.
Have a great Wednesday, my friends!

Kraftin' Kimmie Shape Card Challenge.

Kraftin' Kimmie's newest challenge #184 is shaped cards! The challenge is to create a base shape card other than a square. Fun!!!
Here is my take:

I am not exactly sure what to call this shape! Anyone?
I used the so very beautiful Rose. (FYI: That is my middle name!)
Anyways, I kept it pretty clean and simple.
Added a few sparkly gemstones and there it is. The sentiment says: Hello.
Good news,  good news, and even more good news!!!
First, it was announced today that I am a new DT Member for Sassy Cheryl's!

I am so excited! I love the Sassy Cheryl's stamps. Now, I have an excuse to be Sassy! Those other Sassettes are s-a-s-s-y! I have to keep up with them. LOL!
Second, I was selected in the Top 10 for the Kraftin Kimmie Krafty Guest Contest! Woo-hoo!
And....third....I can't announce just yet! No way, my lips are sealed!
Have a great Tuesday, my friends!

OWH Sunday Sketch

Operation Write Home's Sunday Sketch  #178 looks like this:
I really like this sketch! It's my style. No circles and the squares/rectangles all line up! I think it has something to do with the way my brain is wired. I like everything to line up correctly. Or perhaps it is just my mad obsessive organizational issues. Yes, it drives my husband nuts!
Here is my take:

I've been on a Kraftin' Kimmie kick the last two weeks! That's because I keep ordering rubber stamps and as soon as they arrive in my mailbox (ahem, tackle the mailman a block away) I stamp and color them up! Okay, maybe I have more issues that extend greater than organizational skills!?!?
Anyways, this is Alice. She has been out of stock forever but I finally got it!
I colored her up using Copic markers in the following colors:
Skin-E000,00,11,21
Hair-E55, 44,47
Dress-B93,95,99
The sentiment reads: Curioser, curiouser!
The 4th of July is my favorite holiday! So, I have all my decorations up and ready for America's Birthday! I used the Stars and Stripes paper and added two sticker stars to coordinate with the sketch.
Today is the last day to enter the Krafty Guest Contest. So, this will be a submission for that as well. The sparkle is the stars, of course.

Okay, I am off to enjoy this very hot and muggy summer day! And soon... I may just have some exciting news to share! Have a good one, my friends!

Dandelion

Happy Saturday!
I know. I know. I said that the last Kraftin' Kimmie image was my last entry into the Krafty Guest Contest. And it was my last. I promised it was my last...until three new Kraftin'Kimmie stamps arrived in the mail yesterday!!!! Yay!
So...I had to. Really. I had to!
Here is my new card made using Dandelion.
My favorite Aunt and I share a little story about dandelions that remind us of a person we loved very much. When I saw this image, I just had to buy it. This is the card I made for her. I know that she will love it and she will love the box of freeze pops I got to go with it, too!
Hey, I said she is my favorite aunt.

Dandelion is colored up using Copic markers.
Skin-E000,01,21,R01
Hair-E21,27,29
Other-YR20,23
Grounding-W3,5

The dandelion part is Ranger glitter stickles and Martha Stewart's Iridescent Glitter. It actually turned out good. It raised off the paper to give it a fuzzy appearance. Then, I added a few pearly gems.

It really is a simple card...not a lot of coloring. But I think it is so pleasing. My sister tried to take it but I had to tell her no. Don't worry...I'll make her one.
Eventually.

I am going to enter this card into Stampin' for the Weekend~Anything Goes challenge

A.R.T Sketch Challenge

A.R.T CAS Sketch Challenge #2 looks like this:
I reversed the sketch (kind of) and here is my take using Some Odd Girl's newest digi stamp Sea Song Mae

I used Copic markers to color up this underwater beauty.
Skin-E000,00,21,R01, R17
Hair-BV 11,13,17
Other-BG10,11,13,15
The hair doesn't really look purple in the picture but I assure you that it is!
The sentiment is a wooden rubber stamp that reads: Hello there.
Short. Sweet. Clean. Simple.
Off to take a nap, my friends!

Skin-E50,51,53
Hair-E55,47

Other-C1,3

There are stickles on the big ole' bubble she is blowing and her boots. I added a few green embellishment gemstones from Recollections. And that's it. I promise. This is my last submission. Ha!  Tomorrow I am going  to color up Some Odd Girl's newest Sea Song Mae.
See ya, my friends!

Pollycraft Challenge #1--Anything Goes

Pollycraft Challenge # 1 is Anything Goes. A new challenge is set every other Wednesday.
For this challenge, I colored up Lil'Dumpling Fleur.
Here is my card:
I colored up this cutie using Copic markers in the following colors:
Skin-E000,00,21
Hair-E55,44
Flowers-R05,Y35
Dress-B63,66

I added a few gem embellishments. The sentiment is a wooden rubber stamp that reads: You make me happy.

Today is Wednesday and that means that it's Operation Mid-Week Throwdown. This week's challenge is cards for kids. This adorable image is perfect for a child.

Well, I am off to attend a baseball game. Enjoy, my friends!

Kraftin' Kimmie Guest Contest

Just popping in real quick before summer school starts to share my Kraftin' Kimmie card for the Krafty Guest Contest. It's Lily Lemon. I tried finding the link on the Kraftin' Kimmie site, but I couldn't locate it.

This stamp is one of the very first Kraftin' Kimmie stamps I ever purchased. And I use her a lot. I just love her and the sentiment that accompanies Lily.

When life hands you lemons, make lemonade!

The lemon is an embellishment sticker and if you look closely it is glittery. I wish I would have bought more of these when I found them. They are perfect to use with this card.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great Hump Day!!!!

Summer.Bring it On.

Sassy Cheryl's new Challenge #171 is: Here Comes Summer! And I say Bring. It. On!
For this challenge, I colored up Charlie's Relaxing Swim. This Charlie cracks me up.
Look at her expression... Charlie looks thrilled. I colored Charlie up using Copic markers in the following colors:
Skin-E000,00,21
Hair-E50,47
Other-YR04, B18, C1,3,7, BG0000
The water is colored with B00,12,14. I chalked the clouds in and added a sticker border with flip flops, sea shells, and starfishes.

I had a difficult time taking a picture because of the style of card. No matter which direction I tried, it photographed with a shadow. Regardless, there is Charlie just floating all her worries away enjoying a lazy summer day!
Have a great Tuesday, my friends!

Little Miss Muffet Challenge-Amelie

Little Miss Muffet Stamps offered a Friday Freebie- Amelie. She is one of the Polka Dot Pals characters. I love freebies...who doesn't right?!

I colored Amelie up using Copic markers using the following colors:
Skin-E000, 01
Hair-E55,44,49
Other-C1,3,5, Y13,18,R05

Isn't she the cutest? She has her fingers crossed and as she looks towards the future. I think she is the sweetest image for a graduate. I chalked in the clouds and added a few sparkly stars. The Class of 2014
ribbon is from a small graduation packet of stickers.

I am going to enter this into the current LMMS challengeThe Challenge theme is "Happy Families" OR Anything Goes if you use a Little Miss Muffet or Pollycraft Image

Krafty Guest Contest #4

Krafty Guest Contest submission # 4 is River.

Kraftin' Kimmie is having a contest to be a guest as a Krafty Girl! Who wants to hang out with the  Krafty Girls? I do! I do! Kraftin' Kimmie is probably go to regret that she did say you can submit as many times as you like...he-he! This is my fourth one! I know, I know...what can I say? I do like my Kraftin' Kimmie stamps! They are just so fun to color! And so darn adorable.

Here is my newest creation:

You have until Sunday, June 23rd to submit and you must use something sparkly. I used Copic markers to color River using the following colors:
Skin-E000,00,21
Hair- E31,33,37
Other-C1,3,5,7
I really like mixing stripes with polka dots. And of course, I used both stickles and mixed berry fairy dust on her hat and boots. I chalked in a few clouds behind her fishing pole.

The sentiment reads: "Lure" the best!
The sparkly clear stars are from Recollections. Clean and simple...just the way I like it.
And... there you have River.
I have the perfect recipient for this card in mind!
Have a great Monday, my friends!

Krafty Guest Contest #3

My next submission for the Kraftin' Kimmie Guest Contest is Margarita.

For her sparkle, I sprinkled Donna Salazar (mixed berries) Fairy Dust all over the card.  Oh my gosh! I LOVE this stuff! It is so fine and shiny! Plus, believe it or not...it lasts forever!!! I have had the same bottle for almost a year now and I use it on almost everything! Also, I added blue tinsel to the water. The picture doesn't show the sparkle as well as I would like but it is there. I promise you! It is everywhere! When it comes to glitter, I go a little crazy!!!

I colored Margarita in using Copic markers in the following colors:
Skin-E50,51,53
Hair- E55,44,49
Other-YR04,09, B00,01, C1,3
The 3D sand castles and waves are from Jolee's Boutique. They are dimensional stickers that I thought accented the scene I was trying to create.

Okay....I'll stop...for now!

Krafty Guest Contest #2

Don't ya just love those Kraftin' Kimmie gals?  I do! And the new  Krafty Guest Contest is a chance to earn a guest spot for the month of August! So, I am throwing my cards their way in the hopes of doing just that.

The rules:
You must use a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp on your creation and you must include some sort of sparkle.
The Krafty Girls will help to choose the TOP TEN submissions. Then, you will receive a little package of Kraftin' Kimmie goodies. Those TOP TEN will have one week to compete one more time in a challenge to be announced.
Sounds like a krafty good time to me. And since I just received a whole bunch of rubber stamps last week, I am on a Kraftin' Kimmie Kick! (Ha! That's an alliteration!)

So here are my submissions:
The first is Godiva. I spent hours coloring this image. For the sparkle, I added a few star shaped gems from Recollections and a shiny silver brad star. The clouds are chalked in.

I used Copic markers to color in Godiva. The horse is speckled using C1,3,5, and 7.
I learned this technique from Alyce at Kit and Clowder. Alyce's coloring is amazing! I follow all of her You Tube coloring tutorials.
And guess what? She is a Kraftin' Kimmie girl!

Sunday Sketch

Operation Write Home's Sunday Sketch Challenge #177 looks like this:
Here is my take:
I used a Kraftin' Kimmie rubber stamp called Aphrodite. I used Copic markers to color this lovely image.
Skin-E000,00,21
Hair-E21,25,27
Crown-Y35,38,E18
Dress-BG72,75,78

The sentiment reads: Do all things with love

I added three little sparkly hearts to accent and coordinate with the sketch.
Kraftin' Kimmie has a Krafty Guest Contest right now. So, I am going to enter this creation as well.

On a sad note, I had to say good-bye to a beautiful person in my life these past few days. My husband's grandmother, Ruth...a.k.a Grammy passed. She was 94 years old!!! Grammy's heart was made of pure gold. Not only was she a model of the perfect homemaker and wife but she also took care of my daughter, Riley when she was little! I took this picture this past Christmas and you can just see the love and admiration they shared with each other. Grammy will definitely be missed, but she will forever more live in our memories.

Have a great Sunday, my friends!

The Squirrel and The Fox

Exciting news and a new challenge! I am now a Design Team Member for The Squirrel and The Fox. And there is a new challenge  that requires you to use something metal. Challenge #46 is being sponsored by Beary Wishes.

For my very first DT creation I colored up Bluejay.
Here is my take:
I attached a little metal charm that is a small bird cage with a bird inside. The sentiment reads: Thinking of you...

Yay! My very first DT creation. I am so honored to be part of The Squirrel and The Fox.  I consider it a privilege to join this very talented and  welcoming family.

Have a great Saturday night, my friends.

SAS4K

Send a Smile for Kids have a new challenge and it is for girls! SAS4K is always in need of cards for teenage girls. And since I am on a Kraftin' Kimmie kick the last few days, I colored up this newly released Gabby. She is an athletic beachy girl.
I think she is perfect for a girls challenge. I colored Gabby in with Copic markers:
Skin-E000,00,21
Hair-E43,44,47
Other-R14, B01,02
I used chalk to make the clouds in the background and she looks like she is soaring through the hair to spike that volleyball! The sentiment came with the stamp. It reads: You've Got Game!

I love the red, white, and blue color combo and I used the lime green border to accent the red and blue. I added a few stars from Recollections.

I would like to enter this card into Kraftin' Kimmie's new challenge Anything Goes.

A.R.T Challenge

A.R.T. Challenge (A Random Thursday Card Challenge) is having their first challenge and the theme is: Summer!
You know me...I am all about the summer vacation!!! Of course, I am a teacher! Summer is the bane of our existence. I found out today that after teaching 7th grade for the last 12 years I am being re-positioned at the high school teaching 12th grade. I am not a person who accepts change with open arms, but I am actually excited about this change. I am looking forward to a new start. And although I will miss my colleagues greatly, I am ready to move on. BUT...before I have to move on, I am going to spend every day of summer relaxing and enjoying what I like to do.

For this SUMMER challenge, I colored up Kraftin' Kimmie's newest release called Leilani. This rubber stamp image was sooooo fun to color up and I am sure that she absolutely represents summer!!!
I colored this cutie up using my beloved Copic markers in the following colors:
Skin-E000,00,11,21
Hair-E33,57,49
Other-V12,15, YG03,06, Y35, E18
The palm tree is from Jolee's By You Dimensional Stickers. And the additional embellishments come from an Aloha pack from Recollections.

Definitely, a creation of summer, wouldn't you agree??
Have a great Thursday, my friends!

I would also like to enter this card into Sassy Studio Designs Challenge #22-Anything Goes.

Happy Mail

I got happy mail today. Lots of rubber stamps from Kraftin' Kimmie that I can't wait to color up.
Also, I got a chance to participate in this week's challenge over at Some Odd Girl. It's a color challenge. Blue and green to be exact. So, I combined the color and used blue-green! That's not cheating, right?
You still have time to hop over to the Ning site and participate.
This is sweet Mae. I cant find her to link it up; which is weird because I just bought her!?!? Anyways,  I colored Mae up using Copic markers.
Skin-E000,00,11,21
Hair-E55, 74,79
Don't forget the competition for Odd Idol ends tonight!!! One of those cards are mine. Go vote! Top 10 will be narrowed down to just 5!
I got 8 new Kraftin' Kimmie stamps today, too! I chose to color up Godiva first! This stamped image took hours to color. Here it is:
I love this stamp! The sentiment reads: You're a class act. I kept the card layout plain and simple. I have had several soldiers' cards returned because of not enough postage. Apparently, my cards are to heavy for just one postal stamp. I guess it's the layering of paper minus the embellishments that cause it to weigh to much. So, plain and simple it is.

It's hump day! Have a great one, my friends!
