Sparkle & Shine

Today is the start of the last Sassy Cheryl card theme challenge for the year!!
Sparkle and Shine!
Here is my creation:
I used a stamp from the Kraftin' Kimmie Cheryl Alger set Holiday Libby and Lulu.
The sentiment reads: Hope your holiday sparkles!
The sequins come from the Odds and Ends of Some Odd Girl.
Check out all the sparkle and shine of the Sassy Gals, too!
Happy New Year, my friends! I am hoping it is your best year yet!

Love.

It's been just a little over three weeks since I have lost my beloved Aunt Jerry. My favorite Aunt who has always been such an important figure throughout my life. During my childhood, she taught me to be free and adventurous. Spending many weeks on her working farm, I learned to appreciate the way of her world as opposed to my city life upbringing. Riley played bingo every other week with her. Haden and Trent helped her with heavy lifting and housekeeping chores she could no longer perform. Georgie loved her fudgie squares and Alex was always good for a great big hug and kiss. Yes, she was one of those Aunts that scooped you up and planted a great big one right on the cheek! And...always...she supported and attended their sporting and extra-curricular activities.
My heart is broken and with it my coloring and cardmaking enjoyment has left me. I made cards just for her. And I sent them every week, faithfully every Sunday for over a year. She adored my cards and right before she passed, she told me that receiving my cards "...meant the world to her!"
As we were packing up her belongings, in her desk drawer, I found every single card I ever made for her! She had saved every card. I miss her with all my heart. She always reminded me that love is unconditional and love should be all you ever need.
I made this card today as I thought of her knowing with a heavy sadness that I will not ever be able to send it to her.
But...I know that somewhere up above...Aunt Jerry is looking down and smiling just for me. ❤️

It's Tuesday!
Time for a new Sassy Cheryl Challenge.

Sassy Cheryl's Ribbons and Bows

Yep. I'll admit it. My bow making skills are non existent! Zero. Nada. Like no way...it's not happening!  But this week's Sassy Cheryl theme is Ribbons and Bows. My creation does contain a piece of ribbon. That counts, right?
Here is my creation:
This is a Kraftin' Kimmie rubber stamp set of Cheryl's called: Together is Better.
What I like about this stamp set (besides the adorable images) are all the different sentiments that comes with it!
For this card, the corresponding sentiment reads: All you need is love!
Yep. There is my brown polka dot piece of ribbon, too!
Who wouldn't fall for that cutie! Now click HERE to check the other Sassy Girl's Ribbon and Bows creations.
Happy Tuesday, my friends.

Stamping Bella Sketch

It's not often I get to join in a Stamping Bella sketch. But this week I am going to.
Here is the sketch:
And here is my creation using Uptown Girl: Quinn and her Boots.
I had to move the horizontal piece to the other side otherwise it would have covered up Quinn's adorable boots.
I colored this stamped image using Copic markers in the following colors:
Skin-E000,00,11
Hair-E53,57
Boots/Coat-E31,33,21
Scarf/Skirt/Tights:BG72,75,78

The sentiment reads: Warm wishes. It accompanies the stamp set which just arrived in the mail today! Yay!
I used Stickles for the snow and hat. The paper comes from a 6x6 paper pad called  Welcome Christmas from Pebbles which I'm positive that I bought it from AC Moore.
Well, we are expecting more snow here in my area. I have to admit that it is very pretty when it is falling. I wish I had a pair of boots like Quinn!

Thanks for stopping by...

Penny Black Saturday Challenge

Penny Black's Saturday December challenge this month  is CHRISTMAS!
I recently purchased two Penny Black rubber stamps from Michael's Arts and Craft Store last week. I was so excited when I found them in the seasonal stamping section. I may have squealed in delight. Just sayin'!
You don't see Penny Black  too often around here.
I used Chill Day (or at least that is what I think it is called...) for my creation:
I kept the card clean and simple. This image was simple and fun to color!
I used my Copic markers in the following colors:
R05,C3,R35
E21,53,47
The sentiment reads: Joy to the World! It comes from the Kraftin' Kimmie Holiday Lulu and Libby rubber stamp set.
Then, I added a few stickles to the fur part of Santa's suit and used several  sequins. I am really liking the sequin look. The sequins tend to work a little better when mailing cards inside the envelopes as well.
The paper comes from a 6x6 pad from Pebbles.
Out of all the holiday cards, this one has got to be my favorite!
The other stamp is called: Snow Kiss
I didn't get to make it into a card just yet!
Thank you for stopping by.
Have a great weekend, my friends!

Tiddly Inks #123 Christmas Holiday!

Happy Wednesday!
Just popping in really quick to share my Tiddly Inks creation for the current theme challenge: Christmas Holiday or Winter Scene.
Here is my holiday card using Minnie with Christmas Lights.
Really...I have been in Minnie's situation! Possibly more times than I should admit to!
I used Copic markers to color in this digi image:
Skin-E000,00,11
Hair-E53,47
Dress-R35,C5,R05
Lights:G14, Y18, B02, R05

The paper comes from a 6x6 paper pad from Pebbles called Welcome Christmas. The sentiment reads: I hope your holiday sparkles. It comes from a Kraftin' Kimmie rubber stamp set called Lulu and Libby Holiday designed by Cheryl Alger.

Well, I said I'd be quick.
Thanks for stopping by...leave me a comment! I love to read them all!

Sassy Cheryl's~Anything Goes

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday!?
I know that I enjoyed a nice little break and now it's time to gear up for a busy December.
This week's newest challenge at Sassy Cheryl's is Anything Goes
For this challenge, I used one of Cheryl's Kraftin' Kimmie images from a rubber stamp set called Carnival Fun.
I didn't lean towards Christmas or holiday because this girl can only make so many and I think I have reached my Holiday/Christmas cardmaking limit!
Here is my creation:
I kept the layout clean and simple. Added a few enamel dots and used a corresponding sentiment that reads:"It's so fluffy!"

Of course, I used my beloved Copic markers in the following colors:
Skin: E000,00,11
Hair:E53,46
Yellow:Y13,18,E11
C1,3,5
Bear: E43,53

Back to work today so I am sure it will be difficult transitioning into my 12 hour work days.

Happy Tuesday, my friends!

Guest Design at Tiddly Inks

***Scroll down below to see today's SASSY CHERYL's DT creation!***

Hey, friends!
This is my last creation as a Guest Designer for the month of November over at Tiddly Inks!
I had a blast inking up for Christy using her awesome and ever amazingly adorable images.
It is another ANYTHING GOES theme challenge.
So, I decided to use Wryn and the Bake Me Some Love digi stamp.
Here is my creation:

Adorable, right?!
And since your here...check out my other two creations I made this past weekend using:

And...a newly released image-Dino-Mite
Let me just extend a BIG Thank You to Christy and the DT team for allowing me to guest design this month!!!
Okay...that is all from me.
Now, click here to check out the other fab DT creations.

Sassy Cheryl's Winter/Cold Weather

The week before Thanksgiving break is always crazy busy!
First, it is American Education Week, so there are many parent/meet-the-teacher activities planned all week long!
Second, it means that tonight and Thursday, I will be volunteering in the evenings as a judge for the Interscholastic Reading Competition. There are 3 rounds and it goes late into the night.
It's all good though...it makes me appreciate my Thanksgiving break all that much more.
Anyways, today's the start of a TWO week challenge over at Sassy Cheryl's.
For this theme, I colored in the adorable Noah the Helpful Elf.
Here is my creation:

Don't forget to check out the other DT creations! As always they are out of this world!
You can click here to do so.
Thanks for stopping bye.
Have a GREAT week!

Mo Manning~Challenge #210 Christmas or Winter Holiday

Mo Manning's newest challenge is Christmas or Winter Holiday.
I made two cards for this challenge.
I am trying to re-build my card stash back up.
Here are my two creations using Mo Manning images, of course.
First, is one of the three images from Valerie in Winter.

Second, is Bella and Bronte Skating:
I know it sounds unbelievable, but I haven't been to the craft store in a while now...just trying to use up all the goodies I have. My crafty corner is stuffed to the max so, I am trying to create in order to get rid of it all.
Then, I can purchase new. :) He-he!
Thanks for stopping by!

Sassy Cheryl's Favorite Holiday Colors

Tuesday!
And the new Sassy Cheryl's challenge #192 is to use your favorite holiday colors.
So, I went with red and green...and since blue is my favorite color I had to use that somewhere on my card as well.
Here is my creation using Candy Cane Love:
I colored this candy cane lover in with Copic markers and the paper comes from a 6x6 pad from American Crafts called Peppermint Express.
The sentiment reads: 'Tis the Season!
I kept the card plain and simple with no embellishments so that I could mail it out to an adopted soldier. I am finding that even the enamel dots are causing the envelopes to tear when it is run through the postage machine.
I made another Christmas card, too using another Sassy Cheryl image.
I'll share it here:

Where my own Sassy Cheryl DT creations are clean and simple...you must click here to check out the other Sassy gals creations! They are anything but! More like fantastic-o!

Have a great Tuesday!

Mo Manning~Anything Goes

A new challenge over at Mo's Digital Challenge Blog
This week's challenge is Anything Goes!
My favorite kind of challenge!!
This week, I colored up the adorable Odette.
Here is my creation:
The paper comes from Crate Paper~The Pier. Of course, I used my Copic markers to color her in and the sentiment reads: inspire.
It comes from a wooden rubber stamp.
It's funny how unbelievably giddy I get when I buy a new stamp. Even in today's digital world, I still very much like my rubber stamps... especially sentiments. The only problem is storing them...
So, this weekend I am scheduled to relax and color.
No, really.
I am!
Stay inside and be warm! It is so cold here! I have resigned myself to the fact that I must break out the winter coats! Blah!
Have a great Saturday, my friends.

I am also submitting this card to the Sister Act Card Challenge #32

Kraftin' Kimmie Wonderful Wednesday

Here is to a Wonderful Wednesday where I get to share my creation...
My Kraftin' Kimmie card I made this week!
I used the Holiday Lulu and Libby set from Cheryl Alger.
The sentiment accompanies the set and it reads: Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas!
The paper comes from Studio Calico Magical Collection.
Tomorrow is Wednesday and it is Parent/Teacher Conferences so it will be a loooonnnnng night!
Happy Wonderful Wednesday, my friends!

Anything Goes at Sassy Cheryl's!

ANYTHING GOES!!!
Sassy Cheryl's newest challenge is Anything Goes!
So... here is my creation for this week's challenge using the rubber stamp: We're All Ears
Here is my creation:

This image is so sweet.
I used the accompanying sentiment: I'm all ears!
I colored this using my Copic markers and I tried using a different hair combo that I normally do not use. This combo is E11,13,15

Eh, I really like my go-to hair combo but when you have a 16 -year old who thinks it is funny to hide your markers, you must resort to other alternatives!

I hope everyone is having a great Tuesday!

Here is my creation for the new weekly challenge~Anything Goes!
For this challenge, I used Bad Medicine.

I used my Copic markers to color in this cutie.
The paper comes from a 6x6 paper pad from American Crafts that I purchased at Target.

The sentiment accompanies the digital stamp and it reads: Wrapping you with my love! Feel better soon!

This image was so fun to color! Fortunately, I don't have a need for a lot of get well cards but this is perfect for just those cards!

Weekend Wrap Up

Wow!
I had an enjoyable weekend making cards!
I took off work on Friday to take my son Alex out to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh. He got new "ears"! And for those of you who may not know, Alex was born deaf and he hears with the amazing technology called cochlear implants. So, I guess you could say he has been "upgraded"!
There was a Tiddly Inks release on Friday as well! I was soooo excited to print out the newest images and start coloring!
Here is a quick look at some of the creations I made this weekend!

SAS4K~Holiday!

It’s Saturday and time for another fun challenge  at Send a Smile 4 Kids
This time the challenge is Happy Holidays 4 Kids. Create and link any Christmas or December Holiday card for a child and you could win one of the great prizes. It never hurts to start early, so you can brighten a child's holiday in the eight children’s hospitals SAS4K serves.
And...how nice  would it  be if they could choose a few more cards for friends or family they are missing while they spend the holidays in the hospital.
You do not have to send in your card to participate in SAS4K challenges, but the kids sure hope you do. Keep in my mind that cards must be received by early December to allow enough time to sort and mail to the children’s hospitals.
There are three very generous sponsors for this challenge: Scrapping Memories is giving their winner 10 free files of the winner’s choice! Bugaboo is giving their randomly picked winner 7 digis of their choice! And QKR Stampede’s winner gets 5 digis!
TEAM S.A.S will also be choosing their favorite cards for our top three and the winners will receive a blog badge and an opportunity to be a guest design team member on a future challenge.
Here is my creation using the sponsor Bugaboo...Rudolph--Stars.

Come join in!

Thank You!

It's Tuesday!
Sassy Cheryl's challenge this week is Give Thanks!
You can create any kind of "thank you" card or project.
I really wanted to use a different Sassy Cheryl image for this project, but my printer was not cooperating.
So, I decided to use Sassy Cheryl's rubber stamp--True Friendship.
You can purchase this adorable image as a digital stamp, too!
Here is my creation:

The paper comes from  American Crafts.
The sentiment comes from a clear stamp from Hero Arts.
I just love Sally...honestly, I just love coloring Cheryl's images!
Oh, and the image that wouldn't print...don't worry...I got the printer working and I am going to use that one for the upcoming Anything Goes challenge next week!
Now, click here to check out the amazing Sassy Gal's creations!
They are so talented!!
Have a great Tuesday, my friends!

I purchased this image at Squigglefly.
Here is my creation:
And I made this one, too!

I think he liked it...but then again...he is 14 years old!

Get Your Spook On!

It's getting closer and closer to Halloween!
Although I am not a fan of this holiday and I will tell you why...
Stuffing 5 kids into costumes and then allowing them to consume tons of sugar is not exactly ideal!
Plus, even as a small child, I was always frightened of hayrides where masked teenagers jump out of the woods with chainsaws. And  grown adults scare the bejesus out of you as you try to find your way through a corn maze.
Then there was the one time, on Halloween night, I ran right smack into a tree and broke my nose. Knocked myself out cold! The next day, I had two black and blue racoon eyes and looked like a zombie for weeks!
See? Me like Halloween...not so much.
But Sassy Cheryl's newest challenge is Get Your Spook On.
It's cute and not so spooky!
Here is my creation:

I made 5 of these cards to send to my adopted soldiers this past weekend.

They probably won't receive the cards until after Halloween but hopefully it will make them smile.

Creepy Cute

Creepy Cute?!
Is there really such a thing as creepy cute?
Tiddly Inks newest challenge #120 is just that...Creepy Cute.
So...for this challenge, I colored up the digital image titled Vamp Me.
Here is my creation:

The paper is from My Mind's Eye~Wicked.
I colored in the image using Copic markers.
Skin-E000,00,11
Vampire-E21,25,27
Victim-E53,47
Other-R35,37,C3

The victim's hair (get it...victim?!) was so much fun to color!
I try to color at least one image before bed each night now that school is back in full swing.
This was last night's coloring session.
I used a circle die cut and added a few red dots to embellish the card.
I added the computer generated sentiment: Love bites...
Does anybody remember the CBS TV show called Moonlight with Alex O' Loughlin?
It was my all time favorite vampire series. This image reminds me of the couple--
Mick St. John and Beth Turner.
I was obsessed with this show!!!
He was the vampire and she was the human in love with each other. Sigh!
This Tiddly Inks image is an all time favorite of mine!!!
Anyways, thanks for stopping by!

Sassy Cheryl's Dies and Punches Challenge

Howdy, friends!
Did you all have fun blog hopping?
I sure did.
I hope your week is going well!
I am not one to complain...in fact, I am usually the one who finds the positive.
But let me just tell you how I am struggling with Physics class.
Arrrghhh! I can't find anything positive! My cosines have negative answers!
Anyways, this week's new challenge at Sassy Cheryl's is Punches and/or dies.
Here is my creation:
This is a Kraftin' Kimmie set from Cheryl Alger called Best Fur-iends
The image is a-d-o-r-a-b-l-e! To the 24th power!
And I really love the sentiment: Having a ruff day?
It should say: Having a ruff semester?
I colored in this pair using Copic markers and chalked in the clouds.
The little scalloped circles comes from my Friskars border punch.
Coloring in this image really did bring a smile to my face. I should be sending this card to myself. However, this one has been mailed to my sister.
Okay...click here to check out the other fabby Sassy gals projects!
Have a great Tuesday!
