Wonderful Wednesday

Kraftin' Kimmie's Wonderful Wednesday is this creation using Marilyn.

I will use this as a birthday card! As of late, I have been in need of birthday cards and I am using them faster than I can make them!
The sentiment that corresponds to this stamp set reads: We are all of us stars and we deserve to twinkle.

Why yes, yes we do!

Distress It

Kraftin' Kimmie's current challenge is Distress It!

I have just recently started using distressing ink to help color up my backgrounds. For this challenge, I used the stamp set Olivia Orange.

Here is my creation:

I used Copic markers to color Olivia in and Ranger distress ink~old photograph color. I shaved the edgings to create an old feel look.

The sentiment corresponds to the stamp set. It reads: Orange you a great friend!
Yep, I have a great friend that is going to receive this card in the mail.

At the Movies

Art Impressions...At the Movies set has been a stamp on my wish list...and it finally arrived in the mail yesterday! This image is sooooo fun and it took me forever to color this one. But I finished it this morning and couldn't wait to share it.

I used the sentiment that reads: Flick Chicks!
Funny!
I used Ranger distress ink to shade in the yellow background and since stripes (and polka dots) are my favorite I used the striped in the background and popped the image with a black border.
Tomorrow, I will be blog hopping with Art Impressions....so be sure to stop back then.

Unity Stamps

I am new to Unity Stamp Company...but I think their stamps are swell. I purchased a few of their Itty Bitty stamps from a friend and I just love using them to create with. So...I checked out their website and I immediately signed up for the Stamp of the Week. YES...every week a new stamp is delivered to your mailbox...LOVE IT! And...as I was searching their site I came across their grab bags...so I bought one and this Dream Capture stamp with sentiment was inside:

My Unity Stamp Company collection is pretty limited at the present time...but that sure is about to change!
Unity Stamp Company offers a monthly challenge. The current challenge is a color inspiration. Click here to see the details:

I am submitting this card for this challenge. So fun!

Art Impressions

Art Impressions current challenge is Hip to be Square. I love clean and simple cards especially the straight square look.

Here is my creation using my new Ai stamp called Out to Lunch:

The thing that I love about the Art Impressions stamps are that they are so real-life!  I may or may not have asked my friend to borrow some of her Weight Watcher's points...

I colored this stamp in using Copic markers and used some blue Ranger distress ink to add the peacock feathered background.

This set contains three sentiments....I used the sentiment that reads: Can I borrow some Weight Watcher points?

Mmmmmmm...just look at that yummy chocolate cake!

And the stars must have aligned because a package of stamps arrived today and this lovely angel was in there!

Here is my Wednesday creation using Celestina Angel.

Square

Art Impressions newest challenge is Hip to be Square. This challenge is looking for square bases and then you can add square embellishments and such as well. So creative.

I don't have a big selection of Ai stamps...yet. BUT my collection is growing! This is one of my very first purchased Art Impression stamp set. Here is my creation using Picture Perfect.

I love these gals! They always make me smile. And this image is no different. I chuckle every time I look at them. And who doesn't love a group selfie!?!

This image is colored using Copic markers and I used Chevron black and white paper to kind of create a visually looking effect. Plus, I had to add a little triangle just to be a rebel among all squares. He-he! That's me...a wild rebel. Yeah. Right.

Doodle It Up!

A new challenge at Sassy Cheryl's! It is Doodle It Up!
I thought that this challenge was going to be difficult for me! I never write on my card creations! But I had a blast doodling all over my card.
I always doodle when I am sitting in meetings and such...but this was F-U-N!
I am going to start doodling a lot more.
Here is my doodle creation using a Kraftin' Kimmie Cheryl Alger design called:  Best Fur-iends. (**I can't seem to find the link-up)

Doodle It Up:

My layout design is white on white and I added a flower and a lady bug from a Hero's Arts stamp set. The kitty-cat is colored in with a new color combo I found: YR61 and E33. I think it works really well for animal fur.

The gems are stickers. The one gem by the butterfly was not suppose to be there. I dropped it while I was making the card and it stuck there! So, there it shall stay! :)

I doodled the word hello. This card has been sent to one of my adopted soldiers.
Now...don't forget to click here to check out the Sassy Ladies's doodle creations! They are awesome!
Then be sure to link up your Sassy Cheryl creation for a chance to win!

Pastel, please?

Tiddly Inks' current challenge is Pastels. Although I am not a person who uses pastels very often, I thought this bird image called: For the Birds would be perfect for a quick and clean and simple card.

Colored in using Copic markers, I used a simple design to feature the birdies holding up a sign that reads: Howdy! I am not of fan of birds. In fact, I am scared to death of birds. But this image is cute!
I chalked in the clouds. And the letters were written using a black pen.

The paper comes from an old 6x6 paper pad that I have had for ages. I think it may have been one of the first paper pads I ever purchased when I started card making two years ago. It is from Creative Imaginations~Loolah.

I am done card making for the weekend. Now, it is time to spend the rest of the afternoon writing letters to my soldiers including some birthday cards that need mailed out.

Have a great rest of the weekend!

Weekend Wrap-Up

My weekend was complete with coloring and card making...just what I wanted to do!
Some new Art Impressions rubber stamp sets arrived in the mail Saturday morning. So, I was able to make two new Father's Day cards! I purchased the Ai stamps just for my dad. Why? Because this is so him! Both the Grillfather and the Backyard Boss come from the Father's Day Hero collection.

Here are my creations: (And yes, I will give him both cards!)

I used Copic markers to color both stamped images and I chalked in the clouds and black smoke. My dad really is the best cook out grill master...but there have been a few mishaps over the years!

Dad will get a kick out of this image. He is obsessed with maintaining his lawn. Plus, he also takes care of the neighbor's yard. I am not sure why he loves it so much but he does. And his grass is the greenest around!

I am going to add these creations to the following challenges:

Krafty Girl Guest

Time to select some new Krafty Girls to Guest Design. You can click here to learn about all the details. All you have to do is submit a picture of your best work.

I am a complete addict when it comes to Kraftin' Kimmie stamps. I especially like Moonlight Whispers and Cheryl Alger's designs. If I ever won a million dollars, I swear I would purchase every stamp from Kraftin' Kimmie's.

So, this weekend I colored up this sweet image from the Feathers and Fur set. Here is my creation:

This stamp set comes with several sentiments, too. But because I am sending this card to a solider...I decided to use a different sentiment that reads: Just saying hello. The paper comes from a 6x6 pad from Pebbles~Family Ties collection.

I think that the parrot perched upon her head is adorable! And she is holding a cracker in her hand. Perhaps saying, "Okay, little birdie...come on down off the top of my head!"

New Beginnings

Kraftin' Kimmie's current challenge is titled: New Beginnings.
The goal is to create a card, scrapbook page or altered item with a Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamp that is perfect for a girl!!  Use fun and pretty patterned papers, embellishments, glitter etc.!

So, for this challenge, I decided to use one of my favorite Kraftin' Kimmie stamps: Dandy Lion. Here is my creation:

What better way to start new then by blowing on a dandelion and making a wish?!
I colored this Dandy Lion in with Copic markers and used a tad of Ranger stickles.
The paper is from a 6x6 paper pad from American Crafts: Cut & Paste Amy Tangerine. I used the hearts to make it girly. But added the polka dots because this card is actually going to be sent to a wounded solider.

The sentiment corresponds to the stamp set. It reads: Sending you love and sweet wishes.
Don't you think that is the perfect sentiment?
